n-Butanol is a colourless, neutral liquid of medium volatility with a characteristic odour.

Features:

• Exhibits medium levels of volatility.
• 7-8 % miscibility with water.
• Miscible with all common solvents such as glycols, ketones, alcohols, aldehydes, ethers and aromatic and aliphatic hydrocarbons.
• Can be used in organic synthesis and as a chemical intermediate.
• Can be used as a paint thinner and a solvent in other coating applications where relatively slow-evaporating latent solvents are required, such as in lacquers and ambient-cured enamels.
• Has a highly alcoholic aroma.
