Effectively Stains, Thins & Protects your Investment.

  • Refinishes furniture & woodwork
  • Protects against freeze/thaw/moisture cycles on porous surfaces
  • Creates an oil finish or stain for most wood types

Solvable Professional Grade Boiled Linseed Oil is excellent for protecting concrete walks and floors, flagstone, or interlocking stone from the elements and from salt and chemical damage. It also protects log cabins and wood panelling. You can use it as an oil finish for most wood types because it creates a coating that is impervious to water, heat, most stains, and scratches. Staining with this product achieves a warm golden tone to pine and maple. Porous woods and walnut will darken considerably when treated.

DIRECTIONS: Apply on well sanded wood, concrete or stone that is free of lint, wax or debris. Apply Solvable Boiled Linseed Oil sparingly with a soft cloth or brush. Do NOT apply with a sponge. For more even penetration, dilute with up to an equal part of Solvable Turpentine or Solvable Paint Thinner. Always wipe off any oil that has not penetrated the surface after 20 min to half an hour. Wait until the first coat is dry before applying a second coat; normally approximately 24 to 36 hours. Oil will impart a darker colour to the wood compared to Raw Linseed oil. On porous stone or concrete, the oil will darken the stone and impart a wet look. To test the darkening effect on wood or stone, simply wet a small portion of the surface to be treated with a wet rag or seek professional advice.
